I am ecstatic to work among such a talented and nurturing set of educators. Likewise, I look forward to serving your students as one of the Ed Specialists.
Education is an integral key to success in our increasingly global society. I began teaching students with special needs in 2011, joined SDUSD in 2019, and I have dedicated my professional and academic career to nurturing students of all backgrounds to become scholars and life-long learners. I utilize interdisciplinary instruction, differentiation, humanities, and student centered pedagogy (such as Universal Design Learning and Project Based Learning) to facilitate my students in reaching their academic and interpersonal goals.
We will use real-world scenarios to tackle abstract concepts in order to make those ideas more relevant and concrete. Additionally, I will listen to the interests of your students, and incorporate them into our activities to ensure engagement. I strive to teach with the whole child in mind, so building a respectful working relationship where they feel as though they are a participant in their education, rather than learning as something that happens to them or around them, is paramount.
